Cha Cha Cha Changes
Windows may not be that bad if you don’t have to use it’s shitty browser, email client or office suite. Let’s face it people, the desktop OS only exists to make running other programs fast and easy. My favorite is OS X.. but the more that I replace the shitty worm infested apps in windows the more I don’t mind running it so much.
Case in point, I’ve been using Firefox and Thunderbird as my primary web and email clients on windows for some time now, and I must say, it takes some of the pain out of running it. In all fairness, windows as a windowing system isn’t bad, it’s fast and fairly seamless if all you use it for is running other non MS software. It’s when you run the filthy little disease riddled apps like Outlook Express or IE, or the rotten little spies like MSN Messenger or Media Player that all the badness happens.
When I’m in windoze I’m running Firefox, Thunderbird, trillian and putty, along with a little photoshop and maybe some flash or sound/video editing stuff. All non Microsoft apps and it’s not half bad… No popups or viruses or wierd little subliminal rants from MSN to join passport or whatever other gor-sucking product/service evil bill is whoring out today…
So again, I run replacments for MS apps because they simply work better/faster and they don’t bend me over a barrel and force me to “present” to Gates&Co. or anyone else for that matter. This is another sign of the times. MS’s biggest fear is happening again and again.. the monopoly is breaking… the foundation is being eroded from all sides. Today IE and OE, next Office and Windows itself.
Thanks again to the venerable Mozilla team!!!
